HealthSouth East Valley to Host Technology Fair and Ribbon Cutting

MESA, Ariz. – Technology is an important component of the comprehensive rehabilitative services provided at HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, so the hospital will be hosting an open house to allow the community to come see how it works for patients in the rehabilitative setting. The event will be held on Wednesday, June 7 from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at the hospital located at 5652 East Baseline Road in Mesa.

In addition to the open house, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. for the hospital’s newest technology, the Bioness Vector. Vector, which is the first and only one currently in Arizona, is an over-ground gait trainer that can be incorporated into patient therapy and allows patients who have experienced various types of debilitating illnesses and injuries to move safely while building confidence.

The event, provided at no cost, will also offer hors d’oeuvres, beverages, live music and giveaways.

“Most people do not understand what rehabilitative services are until they are needed,” said Jeff Roberts, CEO of HealthSouth East Valley. “This is great opportunity for the community to come learn about our services, ask questions and experience the different types of technologies we use. We hope this will make them more comfortable should they be faced with these decisions in the future.”

The inpatient rehabilitation hospital serves conditions such as stroke and other neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, hip fractures, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.
